Newcastle boss Bruce: Saint-Maximin has been jumping around since new contract!

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is delighted with the new deal for Allan Saint-Maximin.

The winger signed a bumper six-year contract with the Toon yesterday.

Bruce said, "He's delighted, jumping around with his new pay deal!

"We're delighted he's committed his future to us and I think his best years are firmly ahead of him.

"He's an even bigger star on social media than on the pitch, I hear. But he's a bright lad!"

Saint-Maximin's stock is still high after his fantastic strike against Burnley when he shimmied on the edge of the box before slamming home a superb strike.

Bruce added: "We've all seen Allan play for the last 12 months, and when you see him score and set-up the goals in the last game, it's arguably only him who could do that.

"He has to be consistent and has things to learn but he's 23 and has the world at his feet."

Saint-Maximin paid tribute to head of recruitment Steve Nickson in midweek and Bruce said: "Let's be fair, he was instrumental in bringing him to the club.

"He was involved with the player regularly when we were signing him.

"He's someone Allan can associate with and who's looked after him."
