Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez says contract talks remain at stalemate after their 1-1 draw at Brighton.
The Spaniard remains in talks with the club on extending his new deal but is yet to make a breakthrough on his future at St James' Park.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Brighton, Benitez was asked again about his contract.
He said: "Today was just a game, that's it.
"I said in my Press conference before the game that if we had any news we would let you know."
Benitez was then asked about a time scale on the talks.
He said: "Not really, but every day counts because in the end you want to do things as soon as possible to make sure you can do things as soon as possible to start working for next season.
"We will see."
