Valencia's new Australian signing Mathew Ryan admits he is elated to have joined one of Europe's elite clubs.
Ryan has joined the six time Spanish champions on a six-year deal from Club Brugge for a fee believed to be in the region of €7million.
“I'm very happy and excited to be joining as big a club as Valencia CF" Ryan told the club's official website.
“I know that the club is a very important institution in the world of football and that this move is a big step in my professional career."
“Of course, I was following Valencia CF in La Liga last season. They are a side with fantastic players, who had a great campaign and took fourth place in the league. Our main objective now is to qualify for the Champions League."
Ryan joins Los Che from Belgian side Brugge, where he won the Belgian league's goalkeeper of the year award the past two seasons.
