Sergio Batista says he will look for positive input from all players in his squad including star striker Nicolas Anelka.
The Argentine was unveiled as Shanghai Shenhua's new manager on Wednesday following the sacking of Jean Tigana in April and immediately made it clear that he will continue to listen to the former Chelsea star who was temporarily named as player-coach after the French coach's exit.
It appears as though Anelka will no longer be part of the coaching team but that doesn't mean Batista won't be inviting his ideas.
"Obviously, the final decision is from the coach.
"Anelka can give to all the players his experience, on the field and off the field.
"I don't want Anelka to play only to score goals. He is one of the best players in the world, but I want to keep him back on the field to play with his partners on the team.""It's another moment. He's a player. I'm open to hear Anelka and all the players on the team speak about what's happening on the field," he said.
