New FA chairman Maheta Molango admits the betting investigation surrounding Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo is concerning.
Newcastle midfielder Tonali and Aston Villa attacker Zaniolo are being investigated over alleged illegal bets made while players of AC Milan and Roma respectively.
Molango said on Rai Gr Parlamento: "This is a situation that should worry us because we are talking about boys with important careers and who face difficult situations. The players must take their responsibilities, but I believe that we must also ask ourselves who they have around them and that sometimes they are victims of people who are there to exploit their innocence.
"I'm not just talking about the kids involved, but these young people must be protected and helped.
"In England as a footballer you can't bet on football or anything related to football. We recently had the case of Toney suspended for several months for some bets. Tonali is Newcastle's most expensive footballer and therefore there is a lot of interest. These are issues that are taken very seriously in England, as an Italian what I say is that these things happen everywhere."
