Ryan Nelsen has urged QPR pal Adel Taarabt to ignore the interest of Manchester United.
The mercurial Moroccan has been linked with a shock £12million January move to Manchester United, despite only signing a new three-year contract in the summer.
Asked whether he hoped QPR could rebuff any big-money bids for the player, Nelsen said: "Of course. I don't think any player that can contribute to getting us up the table and staying in this League will be going anywhere."
Taarabt added: "All Adel has to do is just be consistent and keep throwing out really good 7-8/10 performances every week and not worry about any of the speculation.
"You can't get a 7-8/10 once every five games, if you want to be a great player you have to be consistent, doing it week after week, season after season."
