Napoli president De Laurentiis: Motta turned me down; thank goodness I didn't reach deal with Luis Enrique!

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has no regrets missing coach Luis Enrique.

De Laurentiis considered Enrique before turning to Rudi Garcia as Luciano Spalletti's replacement. Enrique eventually moved to France to take charge of PSG.

He said, "I called Luis Enrique and thank goodness he went to France, look at the results he is doing.

"He didn't even convince me at previous meetings that we had for three days.

"I spoke to several coaches. I also called Thiago Motta, but he didn't want to risk taking the place of a coach (Luciano Spalletti) who had done what he did."

On Garcia, ADL added: "With him I am having a bad time.

"I am an entrepreneur, I have a duty to be interested in my company. The coach and the sports director are at my service .

"I will make the right decisions when the time comes. You always have to stop to think. Any hasty decision is wrong. We must end that need to have everything and now, it is not possible in life. Head down, pedaling and working. Life is life."
