Napoli striker Cristiano Lucarelli insists he won't give up after suffering a serious knee injury.

The veteran has no intention of hanging up his boots despite the news he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo surgery on Monday.

"Unfortunately I felt straight away that the injury could be serious, but still wanted to stay on the pitch to give my contribution in a difficult moment for the squad," said the Napoli striker who turns 35 next month.
