Nagasawa commits to Cologne

Kazuki Nagasawa has signed a new deal with FC Cologne after helping the club win the 2.Bundesliga title.

The 22-year old Japanese midfielder joined the Billy Goats from Senshu University in January and went on to make 10 league appearances as the North Rhine outfit gained promotion back to the German top flight.

Nagasawa initially signed a deal until the summer of 2016 but has now penned a two-year extension which will keep him at the RheinEnergieStadion until June 2018.

"From the very first day I felt right at home in Köln, not just within the club, but within the team and the city as well," said Nagasawa.

"I believe that I have ideal surroundings and the best chance of developing myself further with FC and I'm delighted that the coaching staff and those in charge of the club have faith in me.

"I want to take on this Bundesliga challenge with 1. FC Köln and will do my best to be an ambassador for the club and the city of Köln in Japan."
