Murphy: Biggest change at Newcastle? It's...

Newcastle United ace Jacob Murphy says the atmosphere in and around the club is immense.

The Magpies are pushing to qualify for the Champions League this season through a top four Premier League position.

After a midweek win over West Ham United, the Magpies remain third and level on points with fourth placed Manchester United.

Speaking to the Vibe with Five podcast, Murphy said: "Yeah, conversations have been had and that's what we're looking at.

“We've got ten more to go and you can see it in the difference but we still have 30 points up for grabs and we have to go into every game with the respect it deserves, gain them points and go where we can go.

"The journey that the club is on, we didn't expect to be where we were right now, now that we are, we have to believe. We had Alan Shearer come in just before the final and he was talking about belief.

"I think that's a word that this team has been starved of for quite a while. Getting the belief it's a big word that needs to be drilled home to the lads more often.

"We can achieve things and we're showing the right things. It's about having belief. I don't want to jinx it so I'm not going to say so we'll leave it on the pitch.

"The buzz is the best it's been for a long while, even before what's happened now, wherever you went Geordies everywhere would come up to you and ask you about football, wishing you the best but now it's ten times that. Every day at the training ground there's heaps of fans waiting for autographs and pictures, a few vloggers as well.

"Before there wasn't that sort of demand, but now every day the love for the team is times ten."
