Muamba delighted with progress at Bolton

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba feels his game has rapidly improved this season.

Muamba struggled for form and confidence last year but said some changes in his personal life, and the birth of his son just before last summer's European Under-21 Championships have helped him settle down.

"I am a different person now," he told the Bolton News. "It took me some time to get my head around things.

"I was a little bit upset and it wasn't easy to be around me but I settled down and now I can play with a smile on my face, particularly since the new gaffer came in.

"Having my son has made me change as well. It has made me grow up quickly.

"You realise what is important and what isn't. It puts the whole thing into perspective very quickly."
