Moreno talks Villa and Betis hopes this season

Aston Villa fullback Alex Moreno visited former club Real Betis this week.

Moreno is just over a year into his time with the Villans.

He told the Betis website: "Yes, obviously I follow them every weekend, every game. I don't miss a single one. It's true that in Europe it has been a very tough task. They have to get stronger, get that place in Europe to qualify this year. And from From there, next year, work and have a good season.

"This year in the end has been a little harder, being out in the European qualifiers. But the important thing is that they finish with those options to get into, which I think they deserve to, and continue to grow as a team."

On his season with Villa, Moreno said: "Yes, the truth is that we are very happy. We are in the Champions League positions, which we have been fighting for all year. Now we are in the final stretch of the last games and that is where it will be decided who does better to be in those positions.

"We are going to fight to qualify. In the last games we will see what position we will be in, but we are going to fight now to be at the top, to qualify. One of my dreams was to play in the Champions League, so we are going to fight to make it a reality.

"And the issue of Spain, I will continue fighting to make it happen. I am on the pre-list, so we will continue fighting to make that happen and we are on the right track."
