Morecambe boss Brannan excited signing Forest striker Larsson

Morecambe manager Ged Brannan has welcomed new signing Julian Larsson.

The Swedish striker has joined on-loan from Nottingham Forest on-loan to June.

"He comes from a top club in Nottingham Forest, you're not a bad player if you play for a team like that! I'm looking forward to getting him in, he will strengthen our attack," Brannan told the club's website.

"You need two players for each position and to be honest we have had problems with the offense. We needed another couple of players to increase the competition for places, so I am aware that he has come in - he will bring quality to the squad.

"He is fast, he is direct, you can either put him on the edge, so that he can fold in, or you can play him as a nine or behind the nine.

"So he can play anywhere in the attack which is beneficial for us - he is very direct, a great finisher and has an eye for goal."
