Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti feels Antonio Conte is the best fit for the club.
The former Inter coach has returned to Italy after departing Tottenham on Sunday.
Moratti said: “If you want to win the championship, he's probably the most suitable coach to achieve that goal. Either way, I haven't had the chance to talk to Marotta, so I don't know what to say about it."
Moratti was also asked for his opinion on current president Steven Zhang.
“I prefer to wait before making a judgement," he said of the 31-year-old Suning owner. “He has invested a lot in the team and won trophies. Nowadays it's practically impossible for a family in Europe or in Italy to become the owner of one of the top clubs."
