Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti says they've shown the right character to win the Scudetto this season.

Moratti believes the derby victory over AC Milan will prove decisive.

“The derby win was decisive in removing a risk, even if Milan are doing well," Moratti told Radio24. “But the distance put Inter in a safer position.

“Inter have the character, as they demonstrated yesterday, and the intelligence to bring home the Scudetto, with due superstition."

Moratti also had praise for coach Antonio Conte.

“He has remained quite isolated from the club that has some problems, he is doing exceptional things," the former patron said.

“He has attracted all the responsibility of the championship. He has a role that goes beyond that of the coach right now, he has all the merits.

“He doesn't look at the past, but at the present and the present is going well."
