Monk urges Swansea's fringe forwards to grasp opportunity

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has called on his second string strikers to make an impact in the dying stages of the Premier League season.

With news that Bafetimbi Gomis is set to be sidelined for around a month with a hamstring injury, Monk will bring in Nelson Oliveira, Jefferson Montero and Marvin Emnes into his squad for the weekend's trip to Leicester City and has implored them to step up.

"We're really disappointed for Bafe as well because he's hit some great form, scoring goals and contributing to the team. It's a setback for him, but he knows he can score goals in this league when he comes back," said Monk.

"We have Nelson and Jeff back, as well as Marvin Emnes who can play as a striker. It's up to someone else to come in and take their chance now."
