Money in Asia a huge draw card - Caceres

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Adrian Caceres believes the mass exodus of A-League players to Asia is due to the offer of more money.

The former Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory man says at present, Australian clubs cannot compete with cash on offer from certain leagues in Asia.

"I would definitely say there are some leagues in Asia that are of a higher standard than the A-League - the top leagues like the J-League and some teams in Korea and China that are very good," Caceres told Goal.com.

"But the big reason players are going there, even if it isn't a great league or team, is the money.

"The salary cap makes players want to go overseas.

"The more money is pumped into the game, the more players will want to stay in Australia and we will attract more players from overseas as well."
