MLS chief Garber backs Sporting Kansas City's decision to drop Livestrong

MLS Commissioner Don Garber has defended Sporting Kansas City's decision to end their relationship with the Livestrong Foundation.

The MLS club cut short their six-year arrangement with the cancer support foundation, founded by Lance Armstrong, just two years in because of various disagreements and Garber feels it was the right thing to do.

"I think the ownership of Sporting KC had to make a tough decision," Garber said.

"It's a very philanthropic ownership group. They formed an unusual relationship with the Livestrong Foundation. I'm very supportive of the decision they made. I'm absolutely confident they'll get a new partner for that stadium that will do even more than the association they had with the foundation. I think they made a good decision."
