MK Dons defender Upson hails Chelsea veteran Terry

MK Dons defender Matthew Upson has spoken of his admiration for Chelsea captain John Terry.

The two former England teammates will square off in the FA Cup.

"It is an outstanding achievement to be still playing at the top level, in his position at centre-back and at his age," Upson told the Daily Express.

"John has found a formula, which enables him to look after his body and keep playing, keep training every day. When you reach our age that is what you have to do.

"When I was at Brighton two years ago I had the same kind of run. I felt good, I trained every day, played every game.

"John is experienced enough to know his own body, how he needs to handle it, and the club also know him well.

"He played every League game when Chelsea won the title last year, which is an amazing achievement.

"But it is the desire to keep on doing it that is the key. That's what makes him keep on doing the work. I read that he went back in for extra training on his own in the summer last year. It's that desire that sets him apart."
