Sven Mislintat is behind Arsenal's pursuit of Mainz defender Abdou Diallo.

RMC Sport says Mislintat has already identified his first target for Arsene Wenger.

Mainz defender Diallo is on the Gunners' radar, with the 21-year-old now seen as his No.1 target.

Wenger will be able to welcome Diallo into his first team as competition at the back with Arsenal already making contact with the Bundesliga club.

The former Monaco starlet has thrived in German football and Mainz can expect to make a tidy profit on the €6m they invested in the France Under-21 captain.
