Former England international Robbie Fowler has hit out at Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere was handed a start for England's disappointing 0-0 draw against Slovakia in the final Group B game at Euro2016 but the midfielder was widely panned for putting in a very poor performance on the night.

Fowler was among the many who were not too impressed with Wilshere's performance and following the game, the Reds legend has gone on to slam the Arsenal midfielder's fitness levels, both mentally and physically.

Fowler wrote in his column for Oddschecker: "Jack Wilshere just doesn't look match fit mentally or physically.

"Some of his decision making was poor and the decision to start with the Arsenal midfielder didn't really pay off."

Wilshere was replaced by captain Wayne Rooney early in the second half as England faltered in their pursuit of top spot in their group, which as taken by Wales after their 3-0 win over Russia.
