Gaizka Mendieta is confident Cesc Fabregas can overcome a slow start to the new season.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been well below his best in the early stages of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign but former Valencia and Middlesbrough star Mendieta insists he does not need to panic.
"It's difficult to be 100 per cent all of the time in a team that is set up in a way... and all the responsibility that he has," he said.
"You can't always be at your peak, sometimes you're not going to be at your best level, but he still has a lot to offer to the team."
Fabregas is currently away with the Spain national team who take on Macedonia in Euro2016 qualifying in Skopje on Tuesday night following their 2-0 victory over Slovakia in Oviedo on Saturday.
