Mazzarri: Napoli is my pinnacle

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri says his current job is the pinnacle of his career.

Mazzarri has done very well at Livorno, Reggina, Sampdoria and now Napoli, so could he be in the frame to replace Marcello Lippi on the Italy bench?

"I have found my Nazionale here, in Naples," he assured. "I'm not joking. It is a city that gives me everything I could want and a club where I'm free to work the way I see fit.

"In all honesty, Napoli is the top job for me."

The Partenopei are currently in joint fifth place with Juventus, but tomorrow begin a run of tough games against Bologna, Fiorentina, Milan and the Bianconeri.

"I think that spring will be a good time for us, as with better pitches it will enable us to make the most of our technical characteristics.

"These games are important, but will not be decisive. There are 36 points up for grabs and anything can still happen, as every club will have its ups and downs.

"Since arriving here my staff have gone beyond even the most optimistic expectation, so we want to keep fighting for our chances right to the end."
