Maxim De Cuyper was thrilled to make his Club Brugge debut in their 1-1 draw with Europa League opponents Manchester United.

De Cuyper, 19, was played on the left-side of midfield by coach Philippe Clement.

Afterwards, he told Sporza: "It is exceptional that I can celebrate my debut against United.

“When did I know I was going to play? Two days ago the coach told me to be ready. Today there was that one hundred percent certainty. That was great. Just before the match I felt some tension, but in the days before it went well.

"He (Clement) told me: 'Everything that you do well is to your advantage. Everything that you do badly, I take on me'. That is enormously positive if you hear such a thing. Then you get that extra boost."
