Maupay delighted as Brentford defeat Luton

Brentford goalscorer Neal Maupay was delighted with their 3-1 win against Luton Town.

Ben Mee and Shandon Baptiste also scored for the Bees, with Jacob Brown on Luton's scoresheet.

Maupay said: "It was very important [to win] after we had 2 tough games against Arsenal and Liverpool.

"It shows the character of the team, today was a tough game because we were expected to win. Luton are good, they work hard.

"The key word at half time was patience, keep pushing and keep playing well. We knew the more we put pressure on then the chances would come. A lot of teams can work hard for 45 minutes but the longer it goes on the chances start to come. We had to stick to the plan and that's what we did.

"It was a big moment, going ahead, to break them down so early in the second half because they have to take risk to come back into the game and then we scored a second.

"They had a couple of chances so we had to work and fight to the end. It wasn't easy but it was a great feeling to win."
