Mateo Joseph has explained leaving Espanyol for Leeds United last year.
The Spanish striker, who has family in England, made his senior debut with Leeds this season.
He recalled to Marca: "It was complicated because I went to Barcelona at the age of 13 without my family, leaving many things behind and it was a difficult decision, but we saw that a renewal offer from Espanyol had not arrived and we saw ourselves with options and the Leeds sports project caught our attention, which was incredible.
"We saw with Leeds, that many kids made their debut and stayed in the team and that's why we came here."
Joseph added: "It was a detail, it's a club that looks a lot at young people, if you look at the last few seasons, many have debuted and have stayed in, I am very grateful to this project, in the end everything is going well."
