Massimo Luongo has explained choosing QPR over Aston Villa.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood was keen on the former Swindon Town midfielder.

Luongo explained: "Joining QPR is probably my best chance to play regularly, assuming that I impress and give them a reason to pick me.

"With the players and resources they have at West Brom and Villa, they could probably afford to buy a bigger squad and maybe opportunities may have been limited."

Sherwood agrees with the decision of the player he knows through working with him at Tottenham, he said: "It's not the right time for us to do the deal, I think it is a good move for him and it will give them the opportunity to play regularly."
