Martin Demichelis is set to leave Espanyol.

The former Manchester City title winner, 36, joined Espanyol last summer, but has struggled to make an impression this season.

Espanyol coach Quique Sanchez Flores prefers a central pairing of Diego Reyes and David Lopez, which has seen Demichelis manage just two appearances.

Rubén Duarte and Víctor Álvarez also do not count for the Madrid coach.

It could mean all three players will move on in January.
