Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hints at regret missing out on Manchester United striker Robin van Persie. United beat City for the Dutchman as he prepared to leave Arsenal.

"Van Persie for me is a top player," said Mancini.

"He scores one or two goals every game during his career, and if you have Van Persie in your team you have more chance to win. This year they have brought in three or four players in good positions and maybe they can improve."
