Former Barnsley goalkeeper David Preece believes Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa should be considered for the Manchester United job.
Bielsa has Leeds on track to win promotion back to the Premier League.
And Preece said on the Football Writers Podcast: "I don't think he [Bielsa] would go, but I'm surprised that anybody else hasn't even been mentioned because if you can't get [Pep] Guardiola and you can't get [Mauricio] Pochettino, who do you get? Who's close to that?
"Too much of a loose cannon? Maybe, I mean he hasn't really been given a club like Manchester United to hold the reins of, but I mean look at him now though.
"He's top of the championship now, he's so reluctant to bring any players in, he's playing players who are 17/18 years old.
"I think Leeds are perfect for him because Leeds are still an old-fashioned club, still feels like a real club.
"He seems to be the person who's doing it at the moment but I just think it's strange it hasn't even been mentioned."
