The 18-year-old central midfielder is one who United boss Erik ten Hag admires.

Per Sport, United will be running the rule over Vermeeren this week in the Champions League.

He will be playing against Barcelona this week in his team's opening group stage game.

While a winter transfer is a possibility, United are most likely to make any move in the summer.

Vermeeren would also want to be assured he would get first team chances at United.
