Man Utd step up interest in Rangers keeper McGregor

Recent reports suggest that Manchester United are set to push hard for Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

United scout Martin Ferguson watched the Scotland international for the second time in weeks when Rangers took on Valencia in the Champions League this week and despite conceding three goals, was impressed.

The Red Devils are continuing their search for a replacement for veteran Edwin van der Sar who is set to retire at the end of the season and McGregor is currently heading their hitlist.

With Rangers tying up reserve keeper Neil Alexander to a long-term deal, the path is now clear for McGregor to exit. Reports suggest that the transfer fee will be around £5million.
