Man Utd's LVG plays down Giggs rift rumours

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has denied claims that he and Ryan Giggs do not see eye-to-eye.

It has been reported that the Dutch tactician and his Welsh assistant do not have a very strong relationship with further reports suggesting there are cracks developing between the pair.

However, van Gaal played down the speculation by stating that the pair toil endlessly together in order to gain the best results possible for the Old Trafford club.

"We have a very bad relationship," van Gaal joked when asked about the situation.

"I'm very irritated because of this question because everyone can see we have a very good relationship and we work very hard together.

"I think it's a way of suggesting things. So then I'm very irritated and then I take my measures against the media.

"I'm not pleased. I think 90% [of suggestions] are not happening."
