Man Utd release U23 coach Sbragia as summer shake-up begins

Ricky Sbragia has left his role as coach of Manchester United U23s.

The 62-year-old has left by mutual consent after a disastrous two years at the club.

Sbragia was in charge when United were relegated to Premier League 2 and failed to win promotion in the first attempt, finishing sixth this season.

The Manchester Evening News says a number of players were unsatisfied with Sbragia's "lack of individual coaching and questioned his communication".

The Scotsman was also criticised for his decisions on loan moves for U23 players.

His exit is one of the first moves by United as part of a complete summer shake-up of the club's operations.
