Man Utd ponder joining Mbappe battle as they prepare to replace Ronaldo

Manchester United are pushing to accelerate their plans to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese attacker was due to leave the club when his contract expired at the end of the season.

Per The Mirror, United are now moving forward the timeline, given Ronaldo's interview with Piers Morgan regarding his situation at the club.

United will hope to sign a new forward in January as a stop gap, should they decide to release Ronaldo from his contract after the World Cup.

It is the summer when United are most likely to flex their financial muscle to sign a world class striker.

One name being touted is Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, although he may cost a fortune to bring to England.

United chiefs would be willing to go as high as £150m to sign the Frenchman ahead of rivals Real Madrid and Liverpool.
