Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson was furious with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward for not protecting boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils manager had to answer questions on Sunday after his team defeated Brighton 3-1 in the Premier League, regarding the European Super League.
News was breaking that United and five other Premier League clubs wanted to join a breakaway league with other European teams.
Ferguson felt Woodward should have protected Solskjaer and not made him answer press questions about a matter he knew nothing about.
According to The Athletic, Ferguson was "furious" that Solskjaer had to answer such questions, and was not even consulted about United entering the breakaway competition.
The Super League has now been disbanded, given all the Premier League participants and other clubs withdrew one by one.
