Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney joked that he would drop Cristiano Ronaldo during a fun game.

The ex-England forward was playing a game of “play, bench, sell" while on television.

Appearing on Indian TV station JioCinema, Rooney was given the options of Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, and Harry Kane.

He chose to play Messi, bench Kane, and sell Ronaldo.

"I'd probably go... I'd have to start [Lionel] Messi, I'd bench [Harry] Kane and leave [Cristiano] Ronaldo out," said Rooney.

Then Rooney added: "He's not playing for his club, so."
