Peter Schmeichel was full of praise for a pair of Premier League midfielders on Friday night.
The Manchester United legend was watching the opening Euro2016 match between France and Romania when he revealed his admiration for Les Bleus pair Dimitri Payet and N'Golo Kante.
West Ham United playmaker Payet produced sparks of quality for his country in the opening 45 minutes while Leicester City's Kante, teammate of Schmeichel's son Kasper, was at his usual busy best in cutting off any forward forays in his defensive midfield role.
Danish great Schemichel Tweeted his thoughts on the first half, highlighting Kante and Payet, while also giving his seal of approval to Anghel Iordanescu's Romanian side.
1st half not bad. Kante & Payet have been impresive. France needs to do more, Romania is not a bad team. #FRAROU@UEFAEURO
