Man Utd devise summer transfer plan without marquee targets

Manchester United will not pursue marquee transfers this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The seasons since the sacking of David Moyes have seen United spend a lot of money in the transfer market, mostly on big name players who did not pan out.

It appears that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mike Phelan have taken a decision to prioritise players who can fit the way he wants the team to play.

United will look for players with the right attitude, ability and suitability to the club culture and system Solskjaer wishes to use.

It would be a major shift, meaning links to the likes of Paulo Dybala and Gareth Bale may be unfounded.

Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Aaron-Wan Bissaka are the sorts of players United may target this summer.
