Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson must decide whether to release new signing Nick Powell for loan next season.

Powell is wanted on a ­temporary basis by two Championship clubs - Burnley and Peterborough United, says the Daily Star Sunday.

Posh are managed by United boss Fergie's son, Darren, while the Clarets have just sold star striker Jay Rodriguez to Southampton for £6m.

Fergie snr, though, is likely to keep Powell at Old Trafford initially to assess how quickly he can progress - and whether he could challenge for the first team in the new season.
