Man Utd coach McKenna: Solskjaer management really enjoyable

Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna has highlighted the man-management powers of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United begin 2021 second in the Premier League after a run of eight wins from their last 10 league fixtures and McKenna has revealed how Solskjaer has invested trust in his staff and in his squad and is beginning to reap the rewards from that approach.

"Ole is a really enjoyable manager to work with, whether that's as a staff or a player, mostly because he has fantastic human qualities, he trusts his staff and he trusts his players," McKenna told The Coaches' Voice.

"He enables them to be able to express themselves and develop well within their roles. He has a really strong connection and affinity for the club and the ethos of the club, but he's also modern in his thinking and wants to bring in new ideas and move the club forward, so at the moment that's a really enjoyable thing to be a part of."

McKenna also said: "I think Ole values, and has been appreciative, of the qualities I can bring but on top of that we have a wide range of experiences and qualities across both our coaching staff and the support staff.

"Ole brings his own individual qualities but on top of that, he's really good at managing that blend and adding to that blend and utilising people in the best way possible. That's all being done for the benefit of the club and hopefully will bring success."
