Louis van Gaal is excited at seeing Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay striking a partnership in Manchester United's attack.
Following the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, United's need to sign a new striker this summer has been emphasized a lot in the media.
Despite the apparent lack of numbers in attack, the Red Devils have not had any problems finding the back of the net in pre-season with Rooney and Depay impressing up front.
Van Gaal has been encouraged by the burgeoning partnership between the pair and has stated that the duo bring out the best in each other.
The United manager said: "I think they try to do their utmost best to look for each other, and sometimes too much.
"It will be better when we have a wider orientation, but they are always a threat and that is very important. I don't think Barca could cope with the threat of Depay and Rooney."
United, who defeated Barcelona 3-1 in California on Saturday, next take on Paris Saint-Germain in Chicago on Wednesday.
