Man Utd boss Solskjaer: Why it didn't work at Cardiff

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revisited his problems at Cardiff City.

Solskjaer, who endured a miserable nine-month spell as Cardiff boss in 2014, admitted some clubs are a better fit for managers than others and said United is the perfect one for him, because he understands what makes it tick.

“I tried my best and did whatever I could at Cardiff, but it was not the right fit for me or them," he said. “That's just how football is. Molde fits me very well, Man United fits me very well, because it's in me. It's in your personality, it's ingrained in you. I understand the club.

“I thought I could go into Cardiff [and do well], but different clubs have different cultures, different playing styles and philosophies. I'm more suited to the other jobs I've had. Cardiff was a great experience but maybe not the best decision to take it, because I didn't do well."
