Man Utd boss Solskjaer names Greenwood, Cavani in squad for Chelsea clash

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been named in today's squad for the clash with Chelsea.

New signing Edinson Cavani also makes the cut and Harry Maguire is back after missing the win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Deadline day signing Cavani, 33, started training with his teammates last week but did not travel to France for the Champions League win over his former club PSG.

However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named Cavani in his squad for United's third home game of the season on Saturday.

Solskjaer suggested on Friday morning Cavani would be involved at Old Trafford. "I hope and expect all three of them to be available for selection," Solskjaer said of Cavani, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood. "Of course, we've got a training session this morning but they've all got a chance, all of them.

"There are different reasons: Edinson wants to tick all the boxes that he's gone through in his programme to be ready and make an impact. His last preparation is going to be today and then I will have a discussion. Yesterday seemed positive with Mason and Harry."

Confirmed United squad members:

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Nathan Bishop, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Luke Shaw, Donny van de Beek, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Bruno Fernandes, Daniel James, Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo

*Alex Telles was not spotted by photographers but is staying at The Lowry.
