Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for a showdown with vice-chairman Ed Woodward over Paul Pogba's future.
Pogba has two years left on his deal - with United also holding a one year option.
But the World Cup winner is keen to join Real Madrid - 12 months after seeing a potential switch to Barcelona blocked by Woodward.
Woodward does NOT want to sell Pogba whatsoever, regardless of Madrid interest, with the Frenchman central to the club's marketing plans. Pogba is also an Adidas athlete, United's kit manufacturer, says the Mirror.
But Solskjaer doesn't want to keep a player whose heart isn't in playing for United and is willing to cash in as he seeks to make serious change at the club.
He had initially been keen to build around the talents of the Frenchman, whom he first encountered in the club's reserves nine years ago.
But his form has dipped amid public admissions from Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane that he would like his compatriot at the Santiago Bernabeu, leading to an apparent change of heart.
