Manchester United are being linked with PSG's Bosman prospect Edinson Cavani.

L'Equipe says United chiefs are now targeting a move for Cavani in the coming months and are hopeful of fending off competition from Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan veteran is out of contract this summer and will be available on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old is slowly being phased out at the Parc des Princes, and has made just seven starts for PSG in Ligue 1 this season.

United and Atletico Madrid were both linked with a move for Cavani in January but PSG refused to let the striker leave the club.
