Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea starred, while Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas endured another torrid night as Spain defeated Ukraine 1-0 in Euro2016 qualifying on Monday.
De Gea started in goals ahead of regular Spain number one Iker Casillas and made a plethora of vital saves to keep Ukraine scoreless and ensure Spain further established themselves at the top of Group C.
Fabregas meanwhile, continued his uncharacteristically mediocre start to the season, having a penalty saved by Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov.
The missed spot-kick, his fourth unsuccessful attempt from 12 yards in a row for his country, soured what should have been a special night for the Chelsea midfielder who was making his 100th international appearance.
