Man Utd ace Rashford: We cannot dwell on Liverpool thrashing

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has admitted his embarrassment at losing 7-0 to Liverpool.

The Red Devils were humiliated at Anfield in the Premier League by their arch rivals on Sunday.

However, Rashford wants the team to focus on understanding where they want wrong in that game, before correcting those wrongs as they take on Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday.

He told a press conference: "Liverpool v United is a unique game. It doesn't matter about form. It doesn't matter about individuals' form. It is a special game of football that is just decided in the 90-95 minutes you are on the pitch.

"Going in at half time it could have been a different game. I missed a chance from Luke [Shaw's] pass at 0-0 that could have been 1-0 and we had two or three other opportunities and probably should have gone in at half-time leading.

"We weren't in a bad position. We felt like we could still create chances in the second half but it's Liverpool - they can take the game away from you and that's what happened.

"It's about resetting now. That is all we can do, there is no point dwelling on what happened because we can't change it. So we just press the reset button, talk about the basics and just try to win the game on Thursday."

He added on it being a low moment: "Just losing to Liverpool is enough. It doesn't matter the scoreline when you lose a game against Liverpool. When you lose a game against any of your biggest rivals it cuts deep. It's not nice, it is never a nice feeling.

"For me I just always remember how many games we have won against them, I am sure they have the same feeling. It's football, it's why everyone loves the game so much."
