Man City's Hart tells Capello: Nothing wrong with English keepers

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has told Fabio Capello there's nothing wrong with England's keeper pool.

The England Under-21 star reckons Capello is wrong when it comes to his criticism of current goalkeepers.

Capello's opening win over Switzerland featured Pompey's David James.

And the Italian declared: "The drawing pool is constricted. I've had to recall a 37-year-old."

But Hart, 20, tipped for a call-up to the senior squad to face France next month, said: "I keep reading and hearing we do not have that many top keepers in this country.

"But I could reel off five or six names.

"There's David James, Paul Robinson, Scott Carson, Chris Kirkland and Robert Green, plus Ben Foster to come back and some fine keepers in the Championship, who do not get the credit they deserve.

"I feel English goalkeeping is in decent shape."
