Man City teen Lewis hoping to face Salah in Liverpool Cup clash

Manchester City teenager Rico Lewis is excited about taking on Liverpool and Mohamed Salah on Thursday.

The two Premier League giants renew their rivalry in the Carabao Cup this week, as they play their first competitive games since the World Cup.

Lewis, who plays at right-back, is in line to feature for City as he is ahead of schedule in terms of his fitness than many of the club's returning World Cup stars.

Per the Manchester Evening News, he said: "Definitely, against one of the biggest teams in the world at the moment. It would be a brilliant game to be playing in.

"It will be big. I've got no clear if I play or not, I'd love to but it's not my choice, it's up to the manager, whatever he picks I'll do."

"You've just got to take the challenge as it comes. If I play I'll do the best I can, that's all I really can do," he added on facing Salah.

"Playing against people like that will only make you a better player, if you play well or struggle you're going to learn regardless."
